In a surreal twist and an example of the current “entertainment” state of the world today, a series of Anna Chapman photos have quickly become one of the hottest topics online.
Who is Anna Chapman?
If you haven’t been following along, in June 2010, the FBI arrested 10 Russian spies in a dramatic event which should remind Americans that just because the cold war is over, doesn’t mean that spies no longer exist within the U.S.
Anna Chapman just happens to be one of those Russian spies that was deported back to Russia in July after they all pleaded guilty to “failing to register with the U.S. government as agents of a foreign country.” Upon returning to Russia, Anna in particular became an instant celebrity.
The Anna Chapman Photos
Apparently, spying is cool no matter what country you’re doing it for, or against. People take one look at the girl-next-door features of this little redhead and forgive her for attempting to help a domestic spy ring feed a foreign country information about a wide range of topics including including:
-> Nuclear weapons
-> U.S. arms control positions
-> Iran
-> White House rumors
-> CIA leadership turnover
-> The last presidential election
-> Congress and the political parties
Given, her chances, and the chances of the other 9 or 10 spies were about as good as any other citizen’s chances of obtaining sensitive information – however, much of their success depended upon what positions in society (or more importantly, within government) that they could obtain.
Now, as she lives back in the “mother-land,” young Anna Chapman is now selling her body to Russian magazines, rather than to the Russian government. You can check out the Anna Chapman photos for Russian magazine Zhara on the CBS News website.

From Russian Hooker to Russian Star
While any other Russian spy would be frowned upon by most people around the world, apparently it’s cool to use your body in order to obtain secrets about the U.S. and sell it to Russia. According to her ex-husband Alex Chapman, “Anya was great in bed and she knew exactly what to do.”
Um…okay.
Apparently the little bondage queen had a kinky side – she liked “whips and nipple clamps” and apparently lots of sex toys. He told NY Daily News that, “If she is a spy then she’s fallen into it because of the glitz and the glamour of it all,” he said. “She used her looks to get noticed.”
But is Anna a person to be admired? Really? Do you forgive a Russian spy simply because she’s female and fulfills the fantasy role of a James Bond bimbo?
Here’s what else her ex reports about the Russian girl:
-> Her father, Vasily Kushchenko, was a KGB agent.
-> After getting married, Anna started hanging around more with Russian friends (and apparently sleeping around with American ones – all in the name of “spying,” of course).
-> Alex Chapman reports, “She would go to film premieres and became arrogant and obnoxious, always going on about powerful people she was meeting.”
-> After getting divorced, she started dating “rich and powerful” men, and started a real estate business in NY – many believe it was funded with foreign money (or money she earned sleeping around I suppose), which led to its success.
According to CBS news, after the arrest and deportation, Steven Hirsch of Vivid Entertainment (the porn company) offered Anna Chapman a movie deal. Are we really surprised? She’d fit right in.
Get Your Kicks Drooling Over Wanna-Be Russian Spy
So – there you have it. A Russian foreign national who became caught up in the intrigue and romance of spying, and actively pursued attacking the United States with spying efforts. She attempted to feed enemies of the United States with any information she could obtain – the more sensitive, the better. She slept around to do it, and apparently remains proud of that.
So, as you browse through the Anna Chapman photos, don’t let her spy-past spook you. She isn’t dangerous. She isn’t even a very good spy, actually. So enjoy the photos, but don’t forget that behind the flaming red hair and come-hither eyes is a girl who hates your country and everything you stand for.
Enjoy.
