UCADIA Cult Predicts 4-Horsemen End of the World in 2012

end of the world 2012It seems that a group calling themselves the Unique Collective Awareness of DIA (UCADIA) has claimed to have predicted the arrival of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and allege that the first two have already arrived.

This self-proclaimed Spiritual Society (which is in fact made up of several smaller societies) was founded by Frank O’Collins in 1995.

Though the group’s site is adamant about denying that it is a cult, it does portray many cult-like characteristics.

One of which is predicting an impending end of the world in 2012.

According to the Standard Examiner, UCADIA has openly stated the following:

“The UTC Date for the 1st Horseman of the Apocalypse ‘White Horse’ was 12/21/2009 aka ‘Day of Divine Agreement.’ Haiti earthquake, Deepwater Horizon, Australia fires, Pakistan and India Flooding, Russian heat wave/drought, and the European deep freeze soon followed. The UTC date for the 3rd ‘Black Horse’ is 12/21/2011 aka ‘Day of Judgment’. The UTC date for the 4th ‘Pale Horse’ is the ‘Day of Redemption’ 12/21/2012.”

Notice a pattern here?

All of these dates revolve around the winter solstice. The final being (you guessed it) December 21, 2012. It seems the “Ucadians” are jumping on the 2012 bandwagon with their own version of what is to come.

UCADIA Societies Create “Supporting Evidence”

What is really comical about the cult’s predictions is that in the Standard Examiner’s articles about them, the author lists 10 other websites that seem to back up the claim.

However, all of the websites listed are in the same network of “societies” that make up UCADIA.

What is the group’s rationale behind this? Simply put; money! Just read their Help UCADIA webpage:

Now, ahead of handing over the complete Ucadia model to communities that support Ucadia around the world, Frank O’Collins and Ucadia need your support and help. Without your help, the next six months will be even more difficult as devoting the time necessary to prepare transition means almost no time to earn an income to pay to survive and support UCADIA.

Please show your help in a practical way by choosing to donate through one of the four options below.

Those options are: $60, $300, $900, or $1800.

In short, UCADIA is just another Doomsday Cult out to make a quick buck off the whole End of the World in 2012 theory.

Ucadia seems like another Mind Control Program. The whole thing has a pattern similar to the UN One World Government concept….sad.  It is usually the strongest and the brightest targeted by the nefarious. I have lost friends to this movement which I refuse to join.  It is just more One World Nonsense, with a dose of the esoteric.

I had no intension of revisiting this site! but my browser
(un)intensionally brought me back? To call it a cult with it’s negative connotations, really is laughable! as any society/culture is by defination just that! Standing up to the insanity of the current system is most certainly life changing! We are the people we have all been waiting for and that includes all of you! Been Competant and honourable is key! These are qualities i possess! and i do not see it reflected back from those that have taken it upon themselves (in office and you doubters) to call us the opposite of just that? as a note of interest the word Govern-ment means control of mind at its root or to steer the ship of the mind(man} and to be frank i’m very dissapointed in the direction those in control have decided the course we should take? Sovereign or Freeman and/or the right to self governance, take your pick?
We have all had enough of the mental illness/mind virus endemic within your cult? I’m not sure at presant if i want to be interviewed(psychologically evaluated) but please tell me how that would work? and with the greatest of respect………..

The best definition of a cult that I’ve seen so far comes from a post by Kevin Crawley at the ex-cult Resource center (http://www.ex-cult.org/)

“Totalism is defined by psychiatrist Robert Lifton as the tendency to view the world in terms of ‘all or nothing’ alignments. Lifton details 8 ‘psychological themes’ that can be found in totalist groups:

    — A ‘sacred science’ — an ideology that is held to be true for all
people at all times. This ideology generally claims to be inspired
and scientific at the same time.
    — ‘Milieu control,’ the control of human communication, not only over
our communications with others, but also with ourselves.
    — ‘Mystical manipulation’ — including deception and ‘planned
spontaneity’ which seeks limit self-expression and independent action.
    — The demand for purity, the notion that absolute purity exists, and
that anything done in the name of this purity is ultimately moral.
    — ‘The cult of confession’ — “There is the demand that one confess to
crimes one has not committed, to sinfulness that artificially induced,
in the name of a cure that arbitrarily imposed.” (Lifton, _Thought_
    Reform_and_the_Psychology_of_Totalism”)
    — ‘Loading the language’ — redefinition of language, with an emphasis
on moral polarization, and thought terminating cliches.
    — ‘Doctrine over person’ — the subordination of personal experiences
to the doctrines of the sacred science.
    — ‘Dispensing of existance’ — the doctrine that the group can decide
who has the right to exist, and who does not.

In other words, the cult manipulates the environment to ‘set up’ the
recruit to trap him or herself in a black and white mindset.”

UCADIA easily meets a majority of these criteria. Especially after reading your rant! 🙂

Hit a nerve there! Forgive them not for they know what they do! Go do some research on that?
and to the man who has stepped out of himself, ahead there he stands naked in the light…….That happened to me! I am a king, nobody owns me? I know it can be difficult to shake off a lifetime of indoctrination and only i choose to believe what i want to believe and not what somebody tells me, that is a quality called discernment, and yes you guessed it i have that in abundance also! I realise it is difficult for you to understand, Why? people like yourself must always look for the negative and people like me focus on the positive, as you have focused entirely on the word cult, let me say this, Iff that was where the Truth was to be found, who cares! are we causing you so much distress or is it infact when you look in the mirror it’s an ego who looks back and has convinced you it is your true Self? I apologise in advance for this rant? proof positive you have failed to see the bigger picture, but i will give you credit where credit is due, you have managed to goad me into argument, a dishonour on my part i have to agree! on my solomn oath i promice you this will not happen again. So take iff you must this little bag of dreams, unloose the cord and let them wrap you round, or Not and we both already know you choose Not.

    I agree!
I took it upon myself to defend Ucadia when it was not my place and in doing so i realised Ucadia is capable of looking after itself. I apologise if i came across a little strong?! I hope we can agree to disagree? I wish you all the best in whatever you choose to do and whatever that may be!

    Interesting
    hit piece.

    I
am pondering the question about whether or not the Standard-Examiner really is the
most reasonable standard we can apply to examine the veracity of the claims
    levelled in this article.

    Is
there a portion of the UCADIA website where these claims are made? I suspect if
that was indeed the case, this article would be quoting that instead.

    Personally,
I have not spent enough time on the UCADIA website to offer an opinion either
way and it appears as though the author of this article may fall under a
    similar category.

In regard to the request for donations, it seems reasonable that someone who
has forgone a traditional income to try and build something that he feels is of
assistance to the community, would ask for financial assistance. There are many
instances of this occurring: charities, political parties, religions &
protest groups all ask for financial assistance. Do they all fall under the
umbrella of being a ‘doomsday cult’? I have not donated any money, and have no
intention of doing so. Other people
appear to have the same option.

    What
makes the author so certain that the ‘2012’ philosophy should be properly defined
as a doomsday cult? Whatever the truth may or may not be about 2012, the only
thing that I can ascertain with any certainty is that different groups express
different beliefs about what may or may not occur sometime around Dec 2012-or
even Sept 2011 according to a link that passed my eyes earlier this week.

    And,
whilst it looks likely that the ten webpages mentioned are indeed a part of the
UCADIA group -I haven’t clicked on all the links, some of them I have seen
before- these references do not actually form a part of the body of the
article, these references were in fact taken from the comments section. That
said, I’m not certain that the words of enthusiastic third-party supporters
ought to be the basis for making sound and appropriate judgements about the
philosophies expressed on the UCADIA webpage.

    On
a final note, the winter solstice does not fall on the same day across the
world because in some parts of the world December is a summer month. I shall
presume that you were thinking locally, rather than globally when you referred to December 21 as the winter solstice, but I offer this
point in case you were not.

    In
addition, my comprehension is that a lot of 2012 philosophies emanate from the
Mayan calendar or prophesy and that because Guatemala lies between the Tropic
Of Cancer and the Equator it is in a tropical climate with only two seasons,
the wet and dry season. So I am not sure precisely why a philosophy from
Guatemala should be considered as a winter solstice activity.

    Perhaps
we should be referring to a Dry Solstice if we are referring to 2012 from a
Mayan perspective, although, what the four horsemen have to do with Mayan philosophy
is something that my mind hasn’t quite grasped. Is it a case of certain
Christians & Jews trying to marry their religious theology with the Mayan
    one?

The contentions expressed in this article may
indeed have substance to them, but, I am not convinced that there is enough
evidence in this instance to validate the tendered claims.

Hi rdube 02, I read your response to i’m orti and feel compelled to pose a query.
Precisely how does the above definition by Robert Lifton apply to the UCADIA group?
Are there other definitions that contradict Robert Lifton’s opinion?
Would it be fair to say that the application of Robert Lifton’s -or other- definitions, can only be utilised in an arbitrary manner in accordance with one’s personal dogmas and philosophies?

Why is it that every single story online reporting the supposed comments by UCADIA predicting end of the world, refer only to this one article as their evidence? This article does not provide any supportive references, evidenciary facts, nothing what-so-ever.

  • Because this site has always been a reputable source of information, relying on solid evidence, such as quotes drawn directly from the website itself. Finding the evidence was easy – it comes straight from the horses mouth.

  • You must have missed the quotes.
