The bulk of Dennis’ writing has been in the history and technical writing fields. After earning a BA in History, he worked in state government as an Interpretive Ranger/Historian. It was in that position that Dennis wrote, designed, and created many historical exhibits, articles, lectures, etc.
Background as a Historian
Though most of the research he conducted as a Historian can be described as traditional, a few projects came along that were not so traditional. These projects ranged from the existence of the Honey Island Swamp Monster to the possible cover-up surrounding the death of Huey P. Long. These historic oddities sparked an interest in Dennis that has kept him researching various subjects just for fun and curiosity.
Several years ago, Dennis began to focus more on technical subjects; prompting him to change careers to technical writing for the petroleum services, software, and healthcare management industries. While in the Petroleum Services field, he was required to tackle various subjects such as Environmental Quality, R&D, and Public Awareness.
Current Writing Work
Presently, Dennis works as a Technical Writer for the Software industry. In both positions, he began to perfect his writing, editing and copywriting skills. As a Technical Writer, Dennis must effectively communicate with a variety of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create clear, concise documents from highly complex information.
As a contributing writer at TopSecretWriters.com, Dennis is able to use his writing and research skills along with his fascination with the curious and unexplained to present readers with interesting and insightful articles.
